A Problem Within A Problem

Racism was an issue in the past because people didn’t think they were being racist or that they didn’t think racism was wrong. Now in the present, we know that racism is wrong, you would think that racism would stop. However, the problem is, racism didn’t stop and now there are problems about solving racism.

The problem with trying to stop racism or any issue surrounding it, is that people just get angry talking anything about. One could write whole passages on how anger never stopped anything. Nevertheless, if people are just getting angry about trying to fix something, you can already see the problem.

Additionally, with all this anger, already just mentioning the topic, you can already see how foolish people are who try and “solve” racism by riling up people. This can be seen with just people pointing out certain parts of history or posting memes “Wake the CENSORED up” with an African American man being hung.

There are three issues with doing something like that, either the person is trying to blow steam off, which doesn’t solve anything, unaware of other parts of American history, and lastly but more troubling, doing it just to get people angry.

The thing is, nothing of that has to do anything with solving racism. The problem with these things, is that while people might say its history, its not all of history. Yes, it is history, but it’s not the history that solved any race issue. So by having such posts or remeberings like that, they only build anger.

If you really take a look at history, what caused racial tension to really stop was people like Martin Luther King and not Malcolm X. Malcolm X was a lot of anger, while Martin Luther King was more about going somewhere averse to Malcolm X's more angrier get something. Martin Luther King was like water on fire as Malcolm X was gasoline.

People might say atrocities happened are history, but so also is freeing of slaves, people of all races saying treatment of others is not correct. Furthermore, history is also about people like George Washington Carver, Booker T Washington and African American Men fighting for freedom in the great wars.

You cannot just pick and choose history and say that this justifies your action. Even if it did justify your action, what are you justifying? If there is a need to justify, that is a bit concerning.

If racism or any issue around racism is to be solved, it has to be someone who is willing to forget the past and make way for the future. Holding onto the past will only hold back the future. Being angry about something is okay, but to the point, that is your only motivation? No, that will not work.
