The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. ~ Edmund Burke.
With
Syrian refugee crisis going on, there is a lot of finger pointing and a lot of outrage. However, when you look more deeply
into the situation, there is more than meets the eye, and warrants a
closer inspection.
1.Why Are Syrians Fleeing?
With
Nine million people fleeing from Syria it does make someone wonder,
what is just going on there? The answer is simple. Hell. Hell in the
form of their government using chemical warfare indiscriminately
and liberally over the population. Rebels that were maybe once
fighting for an honorable cause to only succumb to the seduction of
ISIS. So naturally, hell.
2.Something Doesn't Add Up
However, as bad as it may seem, it still doesn't explain how Nine Million people are fleeing their country. To break it down more, with
Nine Million, that is nearly half of the population of
Syria, which is about 23 Million. Also in fact, the Syrian refugee number is nearly three times larger than the population of New Zealand, and twice the size of the Chinese Army
including reserves.
It seems strange that these people aren't willing to fight against corruption or their freedom like any other group of people or country, but will happily hurl themselves on train tracks and risk drowning on a boat. Something doesn't add up.
3. Finger Pointing
Despite that, there is a lot of fingers being pointed at the whole humanity and a lot of western nations. However, that is unjust
and wrong.Western
nations cannot be blamed for the mistakes of country far, far, away,
and at it's even worse neighbors.
It's
sickening when you realize the extent of what some of the Richest Arab
nations: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman have done or not done for the Syrians. The very fact that
refugees will travel half the globe to find refuge is shocking at best.
4. Death By Water
Another factor of
the Syrian crisis is the death of of Syrian boy Aylan, who drowned with
his family. While his death is a horrible tragedy. I think it's
important to
not forget the other children in the world. His death is terrible but
to give it so much attention, insults the memory of other children around the world. Children,
who have died alone, raped, tortured , and in slavery.
5. Problems With the Refugees
The problem with the refugees is that there is a chance of ISIS sleepers among the refugees. With
ISIS boasting of a terrorist in every street in Europe, it would only
seem natural that they plan to add more onto those streets. Another problem also is, while the Syrians are struggling, people all around the world are struggling. With this influx of people, it can only spell something nasty.
6. Who Is To Blame?
In
essence, it's not the western world fault, it's the eastern one. For
letting their world become such a state, the Syrians
for letting their country go to the dogs, the Syrian president and
his British wife for treating their people like that, the rebels
for joining with ISIS, and finally the water for killing that poor
boy. If there is any shame, it belongs to them, they are guilty,
guilty, and oh, so very guilty.
So knowing that, what should we do? What we can do is focus on those that need a home. If there are
people who are refugees in your country, be nice, smile, invite them
over for a meal, and hopefully some can find peace.
